Back-To-School Backpacks
We are so Excited, and blessed to announce that for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic this wonderful ministry is back.
Please Join us on August 5, 2023, from 11am-3pm at our very own church. There will be games, a food truck, snacks, ice cream and of course backpacks filled with needed supplies. Grades K- 6th are invited to receive a filled backpack in preparation for the next school year. This is a first come, first served basis.
On Saturday, August 25, 2018 First United Methodist Church hosted its first Back-to-School Backpacks event. Over 400 people graced our church, 284 backpacks and more than 1,000 pairs of socks and underwear were distributed, 40 haircuts were given and over 50 manicures were completed – all for free! We do this because we want to share the love of Christ with our community. First UMC wants to be “the neighborhood church” as we live out our mission to love God and love others.
